In May received recognition by U.S. Food and Drug Administration for conformity of Xylazine and Detomodine production and control with the US quality standards and requirements for marketing authorisation of these products in the US drug market. |

In March the «Grindeks»’ new Analytical Scaling Laboratory was certified accordingly to the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice that attests the compliance of this laboratory with the highest laboratory standards of the world. |

In December «Grindeks»received ISO 9001:2000 certificate that attests conformity of the company’s quality management system with the international ISO 9001:2000 standards. |
Recognition for conformity of «Grindeks»’ active pharmaceutical substances production facilities to the principal EU guidelines Audit of active pharmaceutical substances production by the APIC (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Committee) of the European Chemistry Federation was successfully completed at the end of September and positive recognition was received for conformity of «Grindeks»production facilities with the EU guidelines (ICH Q7A) regulating production of active pharmaceutical substances. |
Quality Award “Wings” from "Leonardo da Vinci" Programme
In December JSC «Grindeks»received the Quality Award “Wings” from the EU "Leonardo da Vinci" program presented by the Latvian Ministry of Education and the Professional Training Development Agency (PTDA) for the excellent project results. Four employees of the company took part in the project on behalf of «Grindeks», who for two months underwent the training in the Analytical Laboratory of the German pharmacy company Merck. Project team performed study, methods development and validation for new Merck products acquiring the analytical methods, which meet the «Grindeks»requirements, but not applied in Latvia yet. |
Good Practice Award 2006 "Safe Start"
In October repeatedly received the State Labour Inspection’s (SLI) Good Practice Award 2006 "Safe Start". According to SLI recognition, «Grindeks» developed co-operation with many educational establishments, worked out special educational programme for young people, which provides education in practical skills and training of more competent and responsible young employees. The Company regularly assess occupational risk thereby significantly reducing dangerous jobs at all occupational levels and positions. «Grindeks» personnel is engaged in the occupational safety system, every employee may notify about the required improvements in the working environment and conditions. |

Latvian Environmental Award
Award received for winning in the contest "Latvian Environmental Award 2005" in the category "Environmentally friendly management". «Grindeks» participated in the contest with the application „Environmental Management System and Responsible Care Programme as the necessity for long development of the company”.
The award received in this nomination is the certification of «Grindeks»systematic devotedness to environmental improvement and environmental care of the company’s management. |

Good Practice Award in occupational safety
Within the “European Week 2003” «Grindeks» received the Good Practice Award in occupational safety and certificate of the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work. |
Good Manufacturing Practice certificate
«Grindeks» is the first Latvian drug manufacturer, which received the Good Manufacturing Practice certificate – drug quality guarantee. With the award of this certificate the Latvian State Agency of Medicines has certified that «Grindeks»’ equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing and control conform to the highest international requirements. Implementation of the Good Manufacturing Practice standards in the company required many years of work and significant investments. |
