26.08.2010 Today, on 26 August, financial statements of JSC «Grindeks» on the first half of the year 2010 submitted to "NASDAQ OMX Riga" indicate that the net profit of the Group of «Grindeks» (hereinafter - the Group) was 4.1 million lats in the reporting period. It has risen by 0.7 million lats or 20.6% compared with the first six months of 2009. In its turn, the Group's turnover of the first half-year of 2010 was 32.1 million lats, which is by 2.3 million lats or 7.7% more than during the first half-year of 2009. The Group's gross profit margin, in the first half-year of 2010, was 56.4%, whereas, net profit margin comprised 12.8%. «Grindeks» agreed with Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis on closer cooperation 18.08.2010 JSC «Grindeks» informs that on 17 August 2010 a senior management meeting of «Grindeks» and the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (IOS) took place, during which both sides agreed on closer cooperation in new product development. JSC «Grindeks» fights with unfair competition 28.07.2010 This year, on the 19th of July, JSC «Grindeks» has submitted a statement of claim to Riga District Court against the JSC „Olainfarm" concerning the nullification of the registration of the trademark MIDOLAT МИДОЛАТ (registration number M 60 991) and the prohibition to use the textual designations MIDOLAT and МИДОЛАТ; besides, an application concerning the assignation of temporary means of protection has also been submitted. JSC «Grindeks» considers, that "Olainfarm" has purposefully created the mentioned trademark, using the mentioned textual designations in commercial activities, so that the customers would have associations with the widely recognized trade marks MILDRONĀTS, МИЛДРОНАТ and MILDRONATE of the JSC «Grindeks». This is done, in order to acquire unfair advantage for the distribution of their identical medications in Latvia through solid reputation of the trademarks of the JSC «Grindeks».
