Clinical trial on Mildronate®
In February 2010 «Grindeks» informed that it has successfully finished the clinical trial on the influence of the brand product Mildronate® on the treatment of angina. International clinical trial was carried out in the cooperation with the experienced clinicists, scientific experts and international contract research organisations corresponding with the ICH/ GCP (Good clinical practiсe) and the EU legislation for the clinical trials of I - IV phases. A randomized, multinational, multicenter, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial with Mildronate® was performed in 37 research centres in Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine. Efficiency and safety of Mildronate® in long term treatment of angina was investigated. «Grindeks» altogether has invested 1.6 million lats in the research.

Construction of a Unit for Crystallisation of the Substance of Mildronate®
To increase the manufacturing capacity of the substance of Mildronate®, «Grindeks» commenced the construction of a facility for crystallisation of the substance of Mildronate® in 2007 by investing 3.1 million euro. The capacity ща еру гтше шы is 250 tons a year.

Construction of Scale-up laboratory.
In June 2007 «Grindeks» opened GLP certified Scale-up Laboratory which complies to the highest laboratory standarts of the world. Laboratory project was developed within five years time; 3.2 million lats were invested in the realisation of the project. Within the frameworks of the project additional fundings from EU European Regional DevelopmentFund amounting 1.5 million lats.

Construction of Ursodeoxycholic acid manufacturing unit.
In order to ensure regular development and manufacturing of ursodeoxycholic acid, «Grindeks» has started construction of a new manufacturing unit. It is planned to invest almost 6 million lats in the project in total. In February 2010 the company signed an agreement with Investment and Development Agency of Latvia on co-financing of 2.8 million lats from the European Regional Development Fund for construction of Ursodeoxycholic acid manufacturing unit.

Construction of a waste water purification plant
On June 4, 2009, on the eve of the World Environment Day, JSC «Grindeks» opened new industrial sewage purification plant where the principle of biological purification has been implemented and the most modern technologies installed. The principle of biological purification is the most modern and environmentally friendly way of sewage purification in chemical industry. In total, 2.5 million lats were invested in the project.

Construction and opening of the final dosages forms manufacturing plant
On 22nd of January 2009, JSC «Grindeks» solemnly opened a new final dosage forms plant. Expansion and modernization of the final dosage forms plant was performed within 2 years and a total of LVL 9.1 million were invested in it, incl. LVL 6.4 million invested in construction and LVL 2.7 million - in technological devices and equipment. The production capacities of the new plant are 1.5 billions of tablets and 500 millions of capsules per year. The total area of the plant is 5500 m². The processes in the new plant are organized in accordance with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO quality standards. A modern automatic control system has been mounted in the new plant checking the microclimate in the premises, operation of the engineering systems, as well as controlling other production processes and considerably economizing energy resources, while the modern and high-powered technological equipment ensures convenient, safe, efficient and environmentally friendly production.

Anti-cancer manufacturing unit
On February 4, 2011 «Grindeks» informed on new anti-cancer final dosage forms’ manufacturing unit, in which 400 thousand lats have been invested. Production processes are organized in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO quality standards, which guarantee safety and quality of the produced medications. The new manufacturing unit is equipped with modern and high-performance production facilities to provide convenient, safe, efficient and environmentally friendly manufacturing process.
